Say No to Maida with Jowar-made Tasty and Healthy Cutlets


Whether we are on a strict weight loss program or fitness program, we all have cravings to have snacks at some point of time. Even though we are fully aware about negative effects of Maida-made fried snacks available in the market, we still fail to control our taste buds and have it. However, consuming flour made items consistently not only cause lots of fat buildup in our body, but also causes other adverse health effects. 


Hence, with the aim to satisfy your cravings towards fried snacks without compromising your good health, we have come up with tasty and healthy Jowar-made snacks i.e. Jowar-made potato cutlets and Jowar-made paneer cutlets.

Jowar Potato smashed Cutlet

Jowar Paneer-made Cutlet with Cucumber
Ingredients Required:-

·         2 cups of Jowar in powered form
·         Half cup of hot water
·         Boiled potatoes
·         Smashed paneers
·         Cumin seeds
·         Grated carrots and capsicum (you may add any veggie of your own choice)
·         Turmeric powder
·         Ginger-garlic paste
·         Cumin powder
·         Coriander powder
·         Chilli powder
·         Amchur powder
·         Garam masala
·         Oil and
·         Salt to taste



Preparation of the Stuffing:-
·         Smash the boiled potatoes/ paneer properly
·         Heat the oil in a pan
·         Add cumin seeds
·         Add grated veggies and boiled potatoes/smashed paneer
·         Add ginger-garlic paste
·         Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, cumin powder and coriander powder
·         Add salt as per taste, amchur powder and garam masala
·         Stir occasionally to cook the stuffing
·         Remove the stuffing from pan and leave it cool




Preparation of Dough and Small Balls:-

·         Take the powered form of Jowar in a bowl
·         Add a pinch of salt and black salt
·         Mix the powered jowar with the stuffing in a well manner
·         Add water occasionally to prepare the dough
·         Make circular/elliptical shapes from the dough
·         Heat the oil in the pan and
·         Deep-fry both sides until it turns golden brown (alternatively, you may opt to shallow fry)
·         Serve hot with sauce or chutney of your own choice.
